it is more than likely half inevitable(a by-product of having a nervous
system designed for subdermal sensory capacity) and 40% training mechanism
so as to dissuade you from damaging (potentially critically) your body (DNA
transport vehicle). with 10% being the 'dont keep walking on it/rubbing it'
etc. want an example of the first part? a toothache. pain to that degree
is totally unproductive and dangerous for the afflicted being...but a
massive central nervous system means extensive nerve density...so we also
get the wonderful benefit of feeling pain like no other can.

organisms they generally have no means of avoiding the source of pain. Some
have tried to make the case that plants feel pain, but I have found these
points generally unconvincing as pain would serve no evolutionary advantage
and would merely waste resources better spent on reproducing and growing.
