[michelle] Do you think demo mode is a more or less accurate judge of psychic powers, given that it doesn't use actual random numbers?
I think pseudorandom numbers and real random numbers are equally unpredictable to humans, so they would be equally accurate for testing precognition. The pseudorandom numbers are generated locally in realtime, so there is the possibility that the psychic is manipulating the outcomes, it would be difficult to tell the difference.
I tried the experiment a second time, this time using the bell curve experiment (http://www.fourmilab.ch/rpkp/experiments/bellcurve/), with these results:
Final score: 58
3.625 standard deviations
A [result] of this many hits can be expected by chance every 6920 runs.
Combined with my previous score, there is about 1 chance in 180,000 that I am *not* psychic. Whoohoo! I'm going to call up James Randi and collect my million dollar prize.
