I'm enthusiastic to inform you all that I have already won the debate on whether or not America is the greatest place to live. And through one little statement (which also is the best defense) I will stand up for the greater America: The United States of America is the most sought after living space in the world.

Onikan, Onikan, Onikan. First of all, you presented your point of view, substantiated with no facts or figures. In your previous posts you've flamed others for displaying their points of view. Name calling is not an effective means to win in an argument.
Your statement above is, again, from your point of view. I've travelled overseas, have friends overseas, all of them from what we can call a "middle class" background. And while they admire the US for the principles it was founded upon, still they want to live in their country of birth.
The US, as great as it may seem in your eyes, is not the best country on this planet to live in.
We have our share of problems.

The United States is reaching a state of overpopulation which is the primary cause of crime, growth of housing development, etc.

I don't know where you discovered your statistics on the issue of overpopulation in the US, but I have to strongly disagree that the US is approaching a state of overpopulation. Perhaps, the major cities in this country are bursting at the seams, but then you have to take into account why people are moving into those areas---the city of San Diego is a prime example. I grew up there, I enjoyed the small town atmosphere it had, and, in particular, the coastal communities which have a pristine beauty like none I've seen before, nor since.
Now, let us look at how the population has gradually shifted from the northern midwest and east to the "sunbelt" states, ie. California, Texas, Florida, Nevada, Arizona, etc. These states saw a rise in their populations in the last 20 years. Moreso, than ANY other part of this nation. People move, people gravitate to areas that are comfortable; therefore, we saw large shifts in population centers.
Look at all of the empty land that is not currently being used in the midwest, mountain states, and the desert southwest. Vast expanses of land are untouched---not for the reason of it not being inhabitable, but because it isn't where people want to live. Simple as that. Hell, I've driven across this land several times within the last 7 years. And, if my memory serves me right, I remember seeing some pretty sights in those empty lands.
Finally, I believe you are sharing your views of the relatively recent population shift into Cali as a basis for your argument. But, that doesn't cut it here. Cali occupies only a small percentage of the total land mass of the US. Remember to look at the rest. ;)
Oh, by the way, the CoV is home to people from all over the planet. We have members from North America, Europe, South America, Africa, Australia, and Asia. 6 of the 7 continents are represented here. So, don't blast your fellow members. Many of them have a vast amount of life experience that may enrich your life. Being exposed to people who do not share your point of view may be a bit disconcerting. But, to categorize them into one group--a group you disagree with---and then to act in an arrogant fashion is not a redeemable quality to possess. That's why many people from across the planet have a sour taste for the US.

Good day
[Casey]
Good day to you.
