A second distinction: Neither Hitler nor Saddam ever left a land which
they occupied unless forcibly expelled, and while there, they both
brutally subjugated its inhabitants. The US, OTOH, has gone into lands
where the inhabitants have been brutally subjugated and proceeded to
liberate them, and has justifiably been criticized in some instances for
subsequently withdrawing from them too soon.
